Thanks to a great and cooperative cast and crew we had a successful shoot this past Saturday. The first part of the day went well and we shot a series of funny scenes with Meghan and Jennifer. Then Meghan “raced” us over to the west side. I say raced because we spent a lot of time sitting in Canal St. traffic while I worried about losing the daylight.
But in the end it all worked out perfectly. We had beautiful light from the setting sun and managed to finish the last take just as the sun set. Perfect.
We did have a minor incident where a 2-year-old child stole one of our props and threw it in the Hudson River. Luckily we had a second golf ball on hand.
The rest of the shoot went well with only a brief conversation with a park official. Who I think just wanted to make sure we were not bothering the nearby wedding. It must have been someone important but I don’t know who.
Afterwards we did a quick little photo session and then went to get a bite to eat and a glass of wine. It was a perfect NYC evening with good friends, conversation, food, wine at an outdoor café with plenty of interesting things to look at. Including, of course, another protest parade.
