How "Salami Sandwich" made me a star

How "Salami Sandwich" made me a star

I'm in a film. Okay. Its a short, fun, quick, little film directed by Richard Ledley. Richard is a talented filmmaker from NYU and this is the first time that I have been in front of the camera instead of behind it. True I'm only in it for 10 seconds and don't have any lines but thats just the way it worked out. When I signed up for it I was fully prepared to make an ass of myself for everyone to see just to gain the experience.

See, there is a monthly comedy film festival here called First Sundays . And every month they have the audience throw out a title and then they pick an audience member out of a hat full of volunteers and pair them up with a film maker and give them 1 month to make a short film.

I'm not an actor and the thought of volunteering gave me a great deal of stress. But thats why I decided to do it. I figured it would be really good experience if I got chosen. But I was feeling pretty brave since I figured the odds were good I would not get chosen. But then it happened.

When all was said and done it was not as stressful as I was afraid it would be. And was actually a lot of fun and my part did not take long. Richard was great and planned it all out and I just did my best to follow directions.

You can see the finished film here on youtube.

All in all a very positive experience.
