I get that question a lot. Usually followed by “When can I see it?”. Well, you see, the answers are “Its coming along.” And “I’m not sure.”
Right now, we have finished “principle photography” and I’ve edited together a rough cut. Since it’s a collaborative improv based film it is going to take considerable massaging to make it feel like a cohesive story. We knew that going in so its no big deal. It just takes time that’s all.
I’m starting to show the really rough cut to close friends and advisers, people who have filmmaking experience, to get their ideas, comments and reactions. After we do that a few times we’ll know better what needs to be added, cut, redone, expanded, etc.
I’ll then schedule reshoots and ADR sessions while looking for a real editor (better than me), a sound designer, composer, etc. There’s just a lot of post production to be done still and each step takes a long time. Especially when you have no budget and people have to work around their regular day jobs.
So when can you see it? I’m not sure, but thank you for asking. Sign up for the mailing list and you’ll be the first to know. And if you would like to help, contact us or leave a comment.
Thanks.
Oh, and keep an eye out for posts looking for editors, etc.
