Adventures in production

We had another good day of shooting this past weekend. Thanks to Sarah and Nick and the crew Gina, Steve and Mike. They all did a great job.Sarah and Nick and the back of Gina and Steve's heads.

Everything went really well especially considering some of the challenges we faced. The biggest of course was noise. There was quite a bit of traffic and construction noise during the first scene. But nothing of course tops what happened at the third location. A parade.

Yes, there we were, about to get off the second take of our master when around the corner comes hundreds of people yelling and chanting. It seems that UNforTaiwan.org was staging a parade to support their cause and I had inadvertently chosen a street corner on their route. At first we tried to wait it out but it was an impressive effort that went on for a while. Then we tried to change a bit of the dialog to use the parade. Its not clear if that will work. I'll know more when I assemble the scene. In the end we did what we could as quickly as we could and moved on.

Nothing to do but laugh and work with it.Us trying to deal with a parade during our shoot
