The V Bar is one of my favorite places in Greenwich Village. Like many New Yorkers is has a multi faceted personality. By day its a bright airy coffee shop with free wireless. At night it turns into a dark intimate bar with beer and wine. It even has this whacky Karma board where you can buy someone a drink without them being there. Then when they come in, they see their name on the board (everyone looks for their own name) and can claim their drink. Its a great place.

In early November we were able to get a few hours at one of my favorite bars, Burp Castle. It was a busy complicated shoot but thanks to everyone's help, including my sister and my friend Mike Hovan, it went off really well. We were able to get a lot of complicated blocking and set ups done in a very short amount of time.

We want to send out a special thanks to Sally Lelong at The Phatory gallery for letting us film there. She was exceedingly gracious about our presence and I'm grateful to have gotten to know her and I look forward to working on other projects not related to this film with her.

Thanks to a great and cooperative cast and crew we had a successful shoot this past Saturday. The first part of the day went well and we shot a series of funny scenes with Meghan and Jennifer. Then Meghan “raced” us over to the west side. I say raced because we spent a lot of time sitting in Canal St. traffic while I worried about losing the daylight.

The good news is that we are gearing up to start shooting soon. The more challenging news is that we still need to find one location. Wwe need a deli/supermarket. I was hoping to get a corner grocery near my place but could not talk the owner into it. It would have been perfect. Its bright, has 4 narrow narrow aisles and is over stuffed with everything you might need. A real city grocery. If you know of any place similar or are friendly with a store owner please let me know.
