Welcome

Hello and welcome. We're excited about our new feature film project and we've created this website to share it with you.

The film tells the story of a woman chasing her dream in New York City who is forced to decide between her expectations and preconceptions and her reality and what she truly wants. It has been written and produced collaboratively based on a script developed through improvisations and is being shot on a shoe string budget.

We hope it will be a quick and easy way for friends, collaborators and anyone interested in the project to keep abreast of our activities and progress.

Our last shoot dates

First let me say how excited I am to be shooting this coming memorial day weekend and I want to thank everyone for their continued support and enthusiasm.

Its been a while since we shot but now that the weather is nice again we can go outside and this weekend is the perfect opportunity to wrap up filming for this project.

Since we last had a shoot I put together a rough cut of the film and showed it to Meghan Scibona and Jason Nunes. Then with their help and the help of a few other friends (Henrique, etc.) we've worked on focusing the story and restructuring parts so that it is all more cohesive and flows better.

I want to give a special thanks to Meghan and Jason who have supported and guided the story and have worked with me on the script over the last few months.

We need a film editor

We've finished a big part of the filming and have a rough cut which we are using to judge the story structure and pacing.

We are very happy with what we see and have some changes planned that will improve the film even more.

So, we now think its time to bring on someone to help with the editing effort and to bring a fresh objective point of view.

Ideally we would like to bring on someone who really enjoys editing and is looking for a way to contribute to a unique feature film.

If you want an opportunity to stretch your wings, try new editing techniques, offer up ideas and try for that balance of traditional and new techniques please talk to us. We want your input and we will listen.

Tag, You're It!

Tag, You're It!

Speaking of collaborative film projects Tag, You're It! is the brain child of Jason Nunes and Meghan Scibona. Its a project that explores collaborative media creation by applying the rules of the Surrealists’ exquisite corpse game to filmmaking. There is a panel at SXSW on Tuesday, March 11th from 5-6pm will discuss the project and issues around this kind of collaboration.

The film by teams of filmmakers with only a small part of the previous segment. Check out the Tag, You're It! website for full details and more information. I hope to be a part of this project but that is really going to depend on our schedule and progress on this film and the available slots for filmmaking teams.

Let me know if you want to be involved.

Meet Jason Nunes

Meet Jason Nunes

Jason is a good friend of mine who has been kind enough to both act in a couple of scenes and help me write and organize the story. He is brilliant and his ideas and support have meant a lot to me and the project.

We are going to South By SouthWest SXSW

At least four of us Meghan, Jason, Don and I are going to SxSW this year and I can't wait. I'll be attending the film and the interactive (I am a computer geek after all) conferences. I listened to many of the podcasts from last year and they gave me all kinds of great ideas.

Meghan and Jason are also both speaking. I think Jason even has two panels. Its going to be a blast.

V Bar

The V Bar is one of my favorite places in Greenwich Village. Like many New Yorkers is has a multi faceted personality. By day its a bright airy coffee shop with free wireless. At night it turns into a dark intimate bar with beer and wine. It even has this whacky Karma board where you can buy someone a drink without them being there. Then when they come in, they see their name on the board (everyone looks for their own name) and can claim their drink. Its a great place.

How would you like to turn 2 again?

Did you ever see that commercial with Martin Scorsese where he has picked up some photos and overly critical of his work and then finally calls his nephew and says "Timmy, it's your Uncle Marty. How'd you like to turn 5 again?"?
Birthday Party

I had to fight the urge to keep saying that because it was not really Finn's birthday. He was a little confused but was a real trooper. He and his guest, I forget her name, patiently sat through a bunch of takes while we lit the candle, sang the song and then blew out the candle over and over again.

Meet Courtney Sale

One of the last shoots we did was one of the most fun. It centered around Courtney Sale and her beautiful son Finn. You'll see a photo of Finn in an upcoming post.
Courtney Sale

For now let me just say that I really appreciate meeting and working with Courtney. She plays a nasty over the top character and it was a blast coming up with things for her to say. Each take was funnier than the last and Courtney was a champ.

Writing partner(s) wanted.

While we are in post production for the current film I would love to start writing scripts for future projects. I have some ideas and am interested in developing both feature length and web series based projects.

The web series angle is interesting because currently the rule of thumb is the shorter (under 3 minutes) the better for the web. Especially if most people watch web video when they are goofing off at work.

I wonder if and when that will change and if people will watch web video more like how they currently watch a TV show. This would allow web videos to be longer and more like a short film or a series of short films. If this is interesting to you lets talk. Give me a call or contact me through this site.
